Easl’s input was focussed on

  • Consultation, advice and identification of potential referrals for assessment;
  • Client assessment and recommendations about appropriate care pathways; developing strategies for staff on how to respond to hostel residents with complex behaviours in order to improve client engagement and outcomes;
  • Structured training, advice, support and supervision for staff teams, supporting the development of psychologically informed environments.


Easl developed an evaluation model as part of this project to explore the impact of our input during the period of the project, which demonstrated both evidence of positive outcomes, particularly an increase in staff confidence and sense of reward around working with and understanding residents who experience complex mental health challenges, and 
​the strength of the EASL model in increasing resources within and across systems.

 

At the end of this pilot, Easl was further commissioned to provide support to specific hostels, Incident Debrief, and Reflective Practice for their commissioners.

Easl was commissioned by Westminster City Council to deliver a pilot project aimed at improving outcomes for homeless people with complex needs, working with the boroughs’ Single Homeless Rough Sleepers’ Hostels.
